Prof. Dr. Yusuf KAYNAK

Professor Yusuf Kaynak received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Kentucky, USA in 2013. His main research interest concern additive manufacturing process, Post processing and surface integrity aspects (wear resistance, microstructure, phase transformation, etc) of metal components fabricated by Additive Manufacturing, machining process of engineering materials, surface integrity aspects of machined components, plastic deformation process and resulting mechanical and microstructural characterization of engineering materials.

In last four years, he served as the Principal Investigator for the research projects funded by TUBITAK, TUBITAK-ARRS (Slovenia Research Agency), MU-Funded Projects and currently serving as the Principal Investigator projects funded by TUBITAK, and TUBITAK-NASA Glenn Research Center, MUFunded Projects.

He has served as Conference Chair, Special Session Chair, Co-Chair, Member of Steering Committee, Member of International Scientific Committee of the various International Scientific Conference and/or Symposium Organizations. He has been actively serving as a Reviewer for over 30 Scientific International Journals including well-known AM journals. He is an Associate Technical Editor of the Machining Science and Technology: An International Journal, and Subject Editor of International Journal of Advances in Engineering and Pure Sciences. He has been Advisory Board Member of International Cooperation Projects Research Support Group at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).

He has published papers on Additive Manufacturing and Post-processing operations in reputable journals including Additive Manufacturing, Progress in Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, etc.

His has published more than 80 research papers in refereed leading journals and conference proceedings in the area of manufacturing during his academic career.
