Sezer Özerinç

Sezer Özerinç is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Middle East Technical University. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from METU in 2008, and 2010, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined METU as a faculty member in 2016.

His research interests include the mechanical characterization and synthesis of advanced alloys and structures. His research group studies a wide range of these materials including metallic glasses, high entropy alloys, nanostructured metals, hard coatings, carbon-reinforced polymers, and additively manufactured metals & polymers.

Dr. Özerinç is the principal investigator of METU Nanomechanics Laboratory established in 2016. He has been the principal investigator of four research projects supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), with a total funding reaching 2M TRY. He is the coauthor of 15 journal articles and his work has been cited more than 800 times over the last decade.
